If you’re in Acworth, Georgia around Halloween and you love haunted houses, look no further than Folklore Haunted House. Located at 5389 N Main Street, this one venue has been featured as a notable haunted house among multiple media sources.

While getting spooked is fun for some, not everyone has the same tastes in horror and scares; Folklore Haunted House fully understands that different people like different flavors of horror and promotes itself as offering three different varieties of indoor haunted houses.

  1. The Manor. This haunted house is themed after an old, decrepit southern estate.

  2. Asylum '67. This haunted house is themed around motifs of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and is set within a decayed mental asylum.

  3. Overload. This haunted house is themed around horror in space, set to the theming of a long-gone mining vessel that has returned but without any of its crew intact.

For those looking for something more than just a haunted house, Folklore also offers its Midway of Mayhem. This outlet allows guests to have fun with horror-themed carnival games and also features a shooting gallery. It should be clarified that this extra bit of fun costs extra; admission to the haunted houses does not cover tickets for the Midway.

Folklore Haunted House also features special events throughout its operational period (nights beginning in late September, through most of October and closing in early November).

  • It Came From The '50s This special event features a 1950s theme to the horror festivities and all the black-and-white tropes of horror you can imagine.

  • Send in the Clowns Understandably, this event night is when everything is given a focus on clowns.

  • Veteran's Night. Anyone who presents their military ID on this night is freely given one regular admission ticket.

  • Ladies' Night. Tickets for admission are half the normal price for ladies on this night.

  • Black-Out. Parties who sign up for a Black-Out experience are given a single glowstick for their group to hold onto as they navigate all three haunted houses; all of which are operating without the lights turned on.

It should be cautioned that this venue may be great but it is not for everyone. Folklore advises that guest parties not exceed 6 people and discourages guests who are:

  • Under the age of 12.

  • Dressed in a Halloween costume.

  • Pregnant.

  • Struggling with heart or respiratory conditions.

  • In generally poor health.

Anyone looking to enjoy the full Folklore Haunted House experience without having to wait in a line to show their tickets can buy a premium-priced "RIP Ticket" when purchasing tickets online. Amazingly, Folklore is incredibly loyal to its customers; all of the activities will stay in operation so long as at least a single guest is walking through the various haunted houses.
