Tired of always walking your furry friend on the same neighborhood over and over again? Or just playing with them in the house when you have time for them? I know it can get boring, so instead of doing the exact same routine every time, take the time to take your dog to a dog park. For socializing or for exercising, here are some of the best dog parks for every county here in NW Atlanta!

Cobb County

Pitner Road Dog Park

2450 Pitner Road, Acworth, GA 30101

The Pitner Road Dog Park is made up of two adjoining but separately-fenced play areas for off-leash dogs with approx. 2 acres of space for larger and one acre for smaller dogs. The lots have both open-space and shady, wooded areas with benched seating for dog owners. Each area has dog water fountains and "poop-mit" stations providing bags for owners to pick up after their pets. There's also a gravel access road and parking lot with 50 parking spaces.

A combination picnic shelter and restroom building sits on a rise and overlooks the playground and dog lots. A multi-function playground for children ages 2 to 12 is also present between the picnic shelter and the dog lots and can be easily seen from the seating areas of both locations. The park is closed weekly on Wednesday mornings until 10 AM for maintenance.

 

Sweat Mountain Park

4346 Steinhauer Road, Marietta, GA 30066

Cobb County's first off-leash dog park officially opened back on October 21, 2006. This dog park is located inside Sweat Mountain Park. There is an area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs weighing 30 lbs. or less. The park also has benches conveniently located for the dog owners to sit and enjoy watching their pets play as well as socialize!

Sweetwater Park

2447 Clay Road, Austell, GA 30168

Cobb's newest dog park opening in 2018. The dog park is located inside Sweetwater Park.  There is an area for large dogs and an area for smaller dogs weighing 30 lbs. or less. The park has benches conveniently located for the dog owners to sit and enjoy watching their pets play.

 

Paulding County

Dallas Dog Park

196 Lester Dr., Dallas, GA 30132

Dallas Dog Park has a huge area for you and your pup to enjoy. There's a water fountain for your dog to go drink when he's thirsty. Plenty of seating when its time for both of you to rest. Plenty of trees and shade. There are areas for small and large dogs.

Dog-Woods at Coleman Camp Park

100 Lester Dr., Dallas, Ga 30132

DogWoods at Coleman Camp Park is an off-leash dog park that has water features. The park has separate areas for large and small dogs. Your furry friends must be leashed when entering or exiting the off-leash areas. DogWoods at Coleman Camp Park is open daily from 7 am to 9 pm.

Hiram Hounds Dog Park

531 Seaboard Ave, Hiram, GA, US, 30141

This dog park is located at the rear of Home Leggett Memorial Park behind the existing concession facilities and is also adjacent to the train facsimile playground. There are three separate fenced areas for dogs with 3 categories of activities. An area for open play for dogs under 35 pounds, one for dogs over 35 pounds and one large area for open play for dogs of any size! Each fenced area has secured entrances with 2 separate gates.

Cherokee County

Woofstock Park

150 Dupree Rd, Woodstock, GA 30188

Woofstock Park has two big areas for pups to play in, one is for smaller dogs under 30 lbs and one for bigger ones. They also have watering fountains, trashcans, and bags, shaded areas, balls and frisbees to use and places to sit while you watch your doggo have fun!

Waggy World Paw Park

175 Roswell St., Alpharetta, GA 30009

Your doggy will love the chance to play off-leash at this fenced dog park! The park has 3 large fenced areas, one for large dogs, one for smaller ones and a central area. All the areas are large and half-shaded with trees. its clean, has great seating and shady tree-filled areas for you and your pup to explore!

Canton Paw Park

135 Juniper St, Canton, GA, US, 30114

Canton Paw Park has 2 large areas for big and small doggies. Water is available and benches for you to sit on and relax. It is laid back, and the people are friendly, as are the dogs. Newcomers are always welcomed!
